LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy is a man on a mission to bring sweet music to the harsh, dissonant subways of New York with his ‘Subway Symphony’ campaign.


The idea is to make the “BLEEP” sounds from the ticket barriers create harmonising tones, variating from whatever line you are travelling on, that play together to construct a beautiful symphony to “help make our city a little more kind”. This is a concept that I think all music-loving city dwellers across the world would agree with!
