5 Places to Meet Your Tastebuds: 12-18 August
Welcome to our brand new series! The first instalment is right here, our tips on unique and unusual events/bars/pubs/places in general – 5 Places to meet your Tastebuds this week, 12 August 2013:
1. Camden Beach
2 weeks to go before this tropical oasis on our very doorstep disappears for another year – the brainchild of the creatives at the Roundhouse, the beach on the venue’s terrace features deck chairs, beach huts, arcade games an ice-cream van and more.
If you’re after music, check out the indie acoustic night on 16th August featuring Vanessa Gimenez, Sophie Blackburn and Ellekaye.
2. Tamesis Dock
A floating pub – in a converted 1930s Dutch barge. Live music, food, and (hopefully) sunshine permanently moored on London’s Albert Embankment.
3. Dalston Roofpark – Movies In Bed
Panoramic views of London, and a mix of dramas and music documentaries accompanied by Massive mattresses, giant coffee pillow sacks & popcorn. And the (second) twist? Film revealed on the night. Plus, it’s FREE.
4. The Nomad Cinema – Stand By Me
“When the Night….has come…..” and the sun goes down on London’s Queen’s Park this weekend, the silver screen goes up for Samsung-sponsored Nomad Cinema:
5. Hack the Barbican
Installations, performances, workshops and discussions throughout August at The Barbican – music promoters Dollop and Relative Agency take over the Barbican Club Space for an immersive and interactive experience, using light, sound and live performance. And again…it’s FREE.
This first one is a little London-centric…but we want to open up the floor to you guys for the next one. Send over your reccies – for London, the UK or anywhere else! – we’ll include the best of them up here weekly.
Let us know what you think if you make it to any of them…
